Family Information Network - Support for Adults & Children with Disabilities

Family Information Network (FIN), or in some states, Family Information Network on Disabilities (FIND) is a nationwide network of adults and children who have disabilities and their families. The network also includes professionals and other concerned citizens who want to ensure that those with disabilities and their families receive the help and information they need.

FIN and FIND are non-profit organizations that are funded through the United States Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs. These funds were established through Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Goals of Family Information Network

The goals of FIN and FIND are to enable families to find the help and information they need to help their children with disabilities. They offer a network of support by offering information, resources, and education to families of disabled children and to disabled adults, so disabled individuals and their families are empowered to make informed decisions about their lives.

FIN and FIND strive to make available services for the disabled to be individualized so the unique needs of children and adults with disabilities can be met, and disabled individuals can succeed.

FIN and FIND want children and adults with disabilities to enjoy inclusion, so they can have equal opportunities in education, community living, and employment.

Benefits of Family Information Network
